Men's Tailoring

The difference is in the fit

An expensive suit that fits badly looks worse than a modest one that fits well. Shoulders, waist and sleeve length are what the eye reads first — and all three are adjustable.

Whether it is an off-the-rack jacket that needs bringing in, an inherited suit that needs modernising, or trousers that need hemming before Monday, we do the work here in our own workroom. Expedited service is available when the date is close.

  • Sleeve shortening and lengthening
  • Jacket waist suppression and taper
  • Trouser hemming with correct break
  • Waist and seat adjustment
  • Shoulder and collar reshaping
  • Vent, lining and button work
  • Waistcoat and three-piece refitting
  • Expedited and same-week service
How It Works

Four steps to a suit that fits

01

Bring It In

Bring the suit, the shirt and the shoes you will wear with it. All three change how the fit reads.

02

Free Fitting

You put it on and we pin it — sleeves, waist, seat and hem — then give you an honest estimate.

03

Tailoring

The alterations are done by hand here. Most suits are ready in three to five days, sooner if you need it.

04

Try It On

Try it again before you leave. If a hem is still long we will fix it while you wait, as we often do.

They did a great job altering my husband's suit in just 2 days. We had to pay an expedite fee but they were very helpful and reasonably priced. When my husband tried it on the day of pickup, the pants looked a bit too long. They shortened it in 15 mins, so we didn't have to come back. Would highly recommend!

This place was amazing. I bought a dress the day before an event, realized it had a tear along the lining, and brought it to the Tailoring & Alteration Center the next morning. Even though everything was super last minute and they were on a tight schedule, they managed to squeeze in my repair in time, not to mention that the repair itself was so perfect the man couldn't even find where exactly he fixed the dress. 11/10.

I had a great experience! The Tailor fit my dress alterations in within a 24 hour window to accommodate my New Year Eve party. The results were wonderful!

Suit alteration FAQs

Standard alterations are usually ready within three to five working days. When you need it sooner we offer an expedited service — one customer had a full suit altered in two days for an event, and when the trousers still looked long at pickup we shortened them in fifteen minutes so they did not have to come back.

Sleeve length, jacket length, waist suppression, side seams and the collar can all be adjusted. Shoulders can be altered but it is the most complex change on a jacket, so we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing on that particular garment.

Yes. Waist, seat and leg taper are the most common trouser alterations we do, along with hemming. Most trousers have enough seam allowance to be let out an inch or taken in two.

Yes, please do. Trouser break depends entirely on the shoes you will wear with the suit, so hemming without them is guesswork. Bring the shirt you plan to wear as well if you want the sleeve length checked properly.

Frequently. Online suits are cut to generic sizing and almost always need work through the waist and sleeves. Bring it in and we will tell you what it needs and what it will cost before any work starts.

It depends entirely on the garment and what needs changing — hemming trousers and rebuilding a jacket are very different jobs. Bring the suit in for a free fitting and you will get an honest estimate before we begin. Our prices are consistently described by customers as reasonable.
